How many left?

I know there is another thread for this but I'm just curious as to how many of you are still waiting. Any signs of labour at this point? How far past due are you?
to you all, I can't wait to read your birth stories (what will I do when those all dry up?)

42 weeks today. I think this is (finally) early labor!

Still waiting. I"ve been having steady contractions since July 19th, but no active labor yet. Its been getting harder but This is really starting to wear me out. Good luck ladies!

I'm still pregnant too! I'm 40w5d today... We're about to go to the mall to walk around a little, see if we can't get things going... there's lots of contractions, everyday, just no real pattern going yet...

I'm 41 weeks and 5 days today. I was almost 100% effaced on Saturday, 1-2 cm dilated, and the baby was at -1 station. Contractions started last night with good bloody show. They were more intense last night, milder today. They've continued all day but never more than 10 minutes apart, and they are usually only about 20-30 seconds long. I'll still go in for my scheduled induction tomorrow morning (unless things really pick up tonight), but now, with all this prodomal labor, it shouldn't take much to put me into active labor.

Anyone else still hanging on?

I'm 41 wks today. Woke up early this morning in tears at the prospect of an induction and all it entails. Found this online somewhere;
"If your pregnancy finishes 42 weeks, then the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) says that an induction of labor should be considered, but not before the completion of the 42 week mark, except for medical indications."
Which made me feel better armed as I go in to see OB tmw. On Friday, she didn't even suggest a non stress test and wanted to go ahead and schedule an induction for this week.
I had a massage this morning and the therapist worked hard on my pressure points and then I went in for my first acupuncture session!
Can you tell I'm desperate??!!
I feel better after the pampering though and have had chats with the baby throughout the day encouraging him to make an appearance!

bumping....

in desperation!

I'm thinking of you ladies with COMPLETE sympathy. ((((HUGS)))) It *will* be soon. Welsh, I didn't even have a hint of contractions last week at this time (41w2d) but was having lots of NSTs showing a healthy, thriving babe (who appears just as healthy and thriving on the outside ). When is your OB appt today? In your shoes, I'd wrangle for an NST - and even a biophysical profile if need be - to give your doctor reassurance and CYA and buy more time on the induction. Alternatively, if I didn't feel confrontational, I'd schedule an induction appointment 4 or 5 days out, assuming all is well with the babe, that I may or may not intend to keep.

Best wishes and for you. Please keep us posted!

Thank You!

for your supportive words! And huge congrats on your little one!
I'm leaving for the Dr app now and, although am not a confrontational person normally am fired up! Am going to ask for the NST and if everything looks fine then schedule an induction for Monday (41 wks 6 days).
Will report back!
thanks again!

update

well that was effortless. Baby performed beautifully on the NST and
my OB had no problem with my rescheduling the induction for Monday. In fact, she confirmed that there was no reason to do it other than 'most Moms want their babies out once they hit their due dates'.
Phew! I can relax now and keeping urging him to make an appearance the natural way!

Hang in there, welsh! I know it is SO hard to be "overdue"-- it's all such a mindgame, that it could be anytime! I went to 41w2d and had an NST that showed baby was not doing well, so had an induction... I'm glad your babe looks great on the NST and that you can take your time until next week. Hope your baby decides to arrive soon!!

Thanks for the well wishes and dust!
Now I'm not being induced before 42 wks I feel like a different person. I'm hoping that my more relaxed state will encourage baby to make an appearance and have told him so!
Got my second acupuncture session this afternoon and will schedule for tomorrow and Saturday if necessary.
Also told my OB that if I need to go into the hospital for cervadil 'thinning' on Sunday, am coming home to spend the night. Pleased with my new-found assertiveness!

welsh, totally hang in there. Maybe you've read about my birth situation. I was so desperate at 42 exactly. 2 and 1 days prior to that I had acupuncture, my midwife wasn't able to strip my membranes, 'cause she couldn't reach, I finally took castor oil at 3:45pm (my u/s and baby's movements were great, so I didn't need to get the full BPP), left the hospital at 8pm (they really tried to get me to check in to be induced IMMEDIATELY) with regular contractions and gave birth at 9:58 the next morning at home as planned.

I'm glad you're feeling better after your NST...I totally know how it feels...

Like everyone told me, they can't stay in there forever. Your baby's coming!

hey ho, still here!

it really helps with my sense of perspective to read about all your experiences!
I had session #3 with the acupuncturist today during which I did lots of breathing and visualized the birthing experience and meeting my Baby. Felt so rested afterwards.
Then went out for lunch and a movie with The Husband. He's off work now until August 27th. Yay!
Anyway, mentally I'm prepared for the induction but am going to enjoy the weekend and continue to hope!!!!!! Heck I might even go to Mass for the first time in I-don't-know-how-long!
