toxemia support thread

I just caught some signs that I was headed toward developing toxemia.

My blood pressure suddenly jumped. I was having some abdominal pain (liver tenderness). I have not been eating very well...big time food aversion this entire pregnancy.

My midwife has me on a high protein diet along with some supplements (dandelion root, fish oil, calcium/magnesium) to help me catch up in the diet area and to support my liver and kidneys.

Thing seem to be stabilizing for me. But I am really having a terrible time eating. I am really scared about the consequences of this (worst being a death, really bad being hospital birth with an early induction).

Anyone else struggling with this at the end of their pregnancy? I really feel alone (I don't want to tell anyone IRL for fear of their fears, KWIM?). I really would like to share some support to get through this and end with a happy, healthy, home birth out come.

Did you have any confirming lab work done? I see that you are due in September.....how many weeks are you now?

We often see a physiological jump in bp in the last month or so of pregnancy, our body's way of stepping up demand for our baby.

I think that you have a VERY good chance of remaining very healthy and normal and having your homebirth.

perhaps reading this will help you feel better? :
