The best carpet cleaner is.....?

We live in an apartment with super cheap carpet that attracts stains like crazy. I've tried a few different carpet cleaners with mixed results.

Spot Shot works the best I think. Does anything work better than that?

I would prefer to use something natural but I also need it to really work. Our apartment inspections are this week so it needs to be clean!

I have heard the carpet cleaners that have an on board heater are good but I but I don't know which brands are good.

I meant a can of something not a device to clean carpets. I don't have time for that with the kids.

I recommend Woolite Pet Stain Remover for all organic stains. We use that for most spots and then for a general all over cleaning, the cheapy 99 cent walmart aerosol spray! Spray it down and scrub it in with a big sponge or mop head, let dry and vacuum up. It'll fluff the carpet up. We've also used this Dyson powder that came with our vacuum (best vacuum ever!) and that works pretty well on high traffic areas.
