An author that a lot of people here have mentioned enjoying has recently published a historical fiction novel.

She generally writes non-fiction.

The book is Innocent Traitor by Alison Weir. I plan on reading it and it might be good for a book club.

Alison Weir has written a lot of Tudor non-fiction as well as books about the War of the Roses and the Princes in the Tower.

Innocent Traitor is about Jane Grey.

I've never heard of IT, but it sounds interesting. Have never read AoGG series, could. Didn't like Red Tent well enough to read again. I like Orson Scott Card, the Ender/Bean series. My mom gave me Woman of Destiny. I've read and enjoyed for a once-read most of Anne McCaffrey. I've got 80+ books on my library reading list(digital--love it--can add from the online catalog), so do I add more?

Are you thinking sci-fi/fantasy or straight fantasy?

Innocent Traitor

I have never been in a *book club* so I'm thinking of jumping in! Innocent Traitor by Alison Weir sounds wonderful!

So how do we go about a book club? Do I just start reading with or without others joining in?

Very excited here!

Innocent Traitor on the way!

Okay, I just requested Innocent Traitor from my library and I should have it Tuesday! Hopefully someone will join me on this!

I love historical fiction too, although I tend to gravitate towards certain cultures and periods.

Last year I read an excellent, fabulous book called The Historian. I lent it too my sister and can't remember the woman who wrote it.
The book was a Vampire story that was also very historical.

Me too. Maybe I'll wait to see if someone suggests a book I'd be more interested in.

I've read and enjoyed Alison Weir before, so I'll try to find 'Innocent Traitor' while I'm out today!

I just finished The Wolf and the Raven based on the Saga of Volsungs and Nibelungenlied. It was so incredibily good. Highly recommended. I'm reading book 2 of the series now, The Dragons of the Rhine.
