Amelia is here!

I’m just getting a chance to sit down at the computer now! I had a beautiful, peaceful homebirth on July 31 and our little girl is perfect in every way! She weighed 8.12 pounds and has more hair then I’ve ever seen on a newborn! It was extremely fast and I feel a little guilty posting the details, but the whole thing was two hours from the time I thought I should start timing my contractions to the time she was born! It was such a different birth experience then the one I had with DS and was everything I had hoped for- the only downside was that everything happened so fast my Mom & sister missed the birth by about 10 minutes. Regardless, I loved having my baby at home and am even more thankful that breastfeeding is actually working for me. I’m a BFAR mom and had very limited success with DS. I’ve been seeing Jack Newman at his clinic here in Toronto and it has made all the difference in the world! I’m taking three Fenugreek, Blessed Thistle and Dom 3x a day and have not once had to supplement with formula. We are taking it day by day, but she is thriving and at last weigh in had not lost any weight- which is huge! The best advice he gave me was to throw away the pump and let her be the pump so that’s what we are doing and it is actually working! I have huge hopes that this will really work this time!

HOly smokes what a FABULOUS bfar story to date!! I'm attempting to bfar also, and I am having to supp with formula, and I hear ya on the no pump thing - the pump just drags it out, I feel tied to the feeding routine, etc etc. So impressed that you're doing well, and LUCKY YOU for being able to SEE Newman in person!!!
