Now I know why not to have the baby shower at my house

We started at 11am. Many guests and all of my friends - the organizers - left by 2pm. dh and a couple of his friends and parents hung out drinking (no issues there). I went to have regulation lie-down on my left side. At 4pm I took my mother shopping for a doll for her grand-daughter (my niece). Then started cleaning up - thinking - okay the folks who are left can help me now. My parents check their flight schedule, tell me they need to leave at 7:15pm, and started having showers and packing. At 7pm I ask dh and his friends to clean up the yard, and told my parents to take a taxi to the airport (I already used my precious standing upright time clearing up, I'm not going to drive them too). Very grumpy.

Oooooo, yeah. We rented out the local tea room and had it catered. None of us were about to cook and clean. No way. I feel for you mama; you're too far along to have to worry about stuff like this.

Mine was two weeks ago and exhausting even though it was at someone else's house. Just opening presents wore me out! Take some time to recover and relax now so you can feel as good as possible!

Am I the only mama who didn't care about having a shower?

My babies still got lots of gifts after they were born.

I didn't care whether I had one or not. This is my fourth afterall, and I wasn't really expecting one, but my family still wanted to have one for me so I showed up. The people at my work want to have one for me so I will be there.

i've never had a shower. :

ok, so i've showered, but i've had a wedding and two babies without having a shower. i'm glad, i don't need more crap and they don't seem too fun. a few days before eli's arrival we went with a bunch of friends for all you can eat sushi, that was a good celebration. it was all i could want.
