anyone making clothing type items for their baby?

im finishing up some washcloths rigth now im making for dd to wipe her face after meals (man organic ones are expensive! so i just bought organic cotton yarn to knit my own!)
after i finish those im knitting some longies and shorties for the little sprout. i'll make them gender neutral since we wont find out if its as boy or girl til they are born!

I've got like 3 rounds left on a cap, & then I'm done with the welcome baby outfit for a girl. I'll be crocheting a lot of stuff; I'm thinking on working on some shirts next.

i need to learn how to crochet too i hear its so so much faster than knitting!

I crocheted a baby blanket a few months ago with some leftover yard (well, not so much my yard as yarn... although the grass is getting pretty long out there!). It came out a little small but it will be okay for a little baby. After that it would be a great doll blanket. Hopefully I will make some more things as well. I think we should post pics of the things that we make... I love seeing other people's creativity and talent.

good idea!!! i have some girly baby booties i made i'll take a pic..now if its a boy i need to make another pair

I tried to crochet a scarf once.... it wasn't a pretty site . I don't want to embarrass myself or my unborn child in trying to make ANYTHING. It might never come out if it knew something I made was awaiting their presence.:

Yea. I sew clothing and cloth diapers for my wahm businesses and plan to make rompers, t-shirts, gowns, diapers, wipes, etc.

I am also planning on making myself 75% of my maternity clothes. Shirts/pants and convert some jeans into maternity and things!

So excited!

I want to learn how to sew onesies. Cute ones. Half my diaper stash is sewn and if I sew one more diaper I will puke, so Im buying the rest, but I want to make some little blankets and alll my wipes still. I need a serger.

I've really gotten into sewing after I made a sling. I made a copy of an ergo/beco/yamo. Now I'm making diapers and I'm going to make some babylegs. The babylegs look super easy! And way cheaper! I think I might make some tshirt gowns or at least cut off some of dd's white onesies for ECing ease. I'll have to take pics and post them.

Okay, I'm really hoping that the majority of you mamas who have all this stuff done even though you *just* found out you're pregnant either 1) had a stash started or 2) were planning/trying to get pregnant!!!
I'm planning on knitting, personally. There's a blanket in Adorable knits for tots that I want to make and I'm dying to try a bamboo blend. I kind of want to get started on some things but I WOH so I don't know when I will. I'll just let you crafty mamas inspire me!!!

My3babes, can you give some hints on making/converting maternity clothes?We really don't have the $ this time around, even for a thrift store wardrobe... and I go through all the sizes: small, med, large, and yes, extra large.

I just saw a cute tutorial on how to change a t-shirt into a onesie on craftster. It made me want to go find some old shirts just to try it out!
