I love my MIL!

So the family baby shower was this weekend and I got such an awesome gift from my MIL. She sewed 31 prefold diapers for Baby. They are print flannel and take a while to dry, but its still wonderful! She gave us a garbage pail with a foot pedal and an adorable, soft, little blanket. She also gave us a few pairs of rubber pants "in case the wool doesn't work," but I'll forgive her lack of faith.

It was wonderful and our baby is so blessed that we have such loving and involved family. I just wanted to share our happiness.

Sounds wonderful! My MIL is so sweet, too, such a bonus to a wonderful DH!

I bet she had a lot of fun sewing for baby, as well, and that those diapers are full of love!

My MIL has been really good lately.

We were chatting the other day, and talking about my HB plans. She asked when I will call my mother and the MW to come. I said the MW won't come from the beginning -- she will wait until i get further along. My MIL said "but your mother will come right away, right?" I said yes. MIL said "good, because it is important during labor to have someone there just telling you that they know it hurts and everything is OK." It was nice to see that my MIL understands the concept of validating the experience.

With my BP increase, and me stressing out about it, MIL keeps telling me that everything will be OK. I understand that she is trying to be comforting to me, and I appreciate it. I just can't help but feel like OK is not good enough. Sure, I could go to the hospital and the baby and I will probably both live. But I want better than that -- better than OK. I want the baby to have the gentlest, most positive birth possible. Going to a hospital is OK, but OK is not good enough for me.

MIL has been sending over food to us, too. She keeps calling to see if we need anything. We don't have a car, so she offers to send FIL to get anything we need.
