nickname spelling help needed!

SORRY! I know you are all name-threaded out but I have to ask. We are naming our daughter Mairaed, pronounced mah-RAYD. Her nickname will be pronounced RAYdee but how would you spell it? I am thinking Raidie. What do you think?

Any other spellings you can think of?

Raidie
Raidey
Raydie
Raydee

Ugh! Why can we easily pick the name but can't spell the nickname???? Thanks for any help.

i wouldn't stress, she'll have lots of nicknames once she's here.

Raedy
Raedee

Although, I think I like your spelling. Funny aside...my mom and I used to always argue about how my nickname should be spelled (Jessi, Jesse, Jessie, etc)! It will all work out...

Nice name, btw. What does it mean?

Because it's spelled raed, I would use that as the basis for the knickname.

But also, as a PP said, don't stress! There will be SO many knicknames, spelling probably won't be the issue.

What a pretty name! I would think you could go with Raedie or Raidie. GinaRae's rationale for Raedie makes sense.

How is the full name spelled? And why did you choose it? I can't find it on Babynamer, and I'm curious about what it means too.

It's gaelic for Margaret. DH is of scottish and irish descent and I am irish... we liked it. There are a few different ways to spell it but the gaelic spelling is too hard- it is like Maighread or something.

Doh! Pregnancy brain! I meant to ask how it is PRONOUNCED... the spelling is pretty clear, right there, at the beginning of the thread...

I like Raydie for the NN spell (very cute BTW!) I am OK with it not being exactly same as full name spell/.. my friends DD is Julianne and NN Jewlz for spell , I think it's cute!

I love it! Raedy is probably the spelling I'd go with or Raedie because it ends in Raed.

Yes, I think I like Raedie because of the Raed part. It is so funny that she h as just become Mairaed instead of Baby, like she is already born and here in her crib. It seems so natural to call her that... it is nice to find a name that seems so right for her...

Thank you all for your feedback!
