My son started Montessori camp today and then will be in the school in September in the toddler programme (he is turning 2 this month). I am going back to work full time, but also glad he gets to go to Montessori as his daycare. Any advice?

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

Funny you should post this-I was about to come here and post that my DD started her toddler program full time (sorta--three and a half days a week) today.
How did your drop off go this morning? DD had been there for a week back in June and did pretty well, but as soon as we pulled up to the school this morning she started crying.
I was pretty bummed out. We went in and I sat and played with her for about 30 minutes while she settled in. There were 2 other kids there that were starting this week, and one of them was having a really rough time. I waited until he settled down a bit before taking my leave. As soon as I told Freya I had to go, she kind of flipped out. She ultimately chased me to the door crying, "Mama, mama!" Ohhh, that just hurts.
I know she's going to be fine...I know the transition is just a bit rough. One of the TAs commented to another parent that, "Freya only took a couple of days to settle in when she was here in June," and it was in a really positive tone. So I know she'll be fine, but I am a little traumatized.
Anyway, not to thread hijack--just sharing a commonality there! I hope your LO has a great first day.

My husband did drop-off actually; he'll be doing it regularly so we thought we should start the way it's going to go. He said Noah wasn't thrilled but was distracted by the teacher pretty effectively. I called at lunch and they said he was looking tired and not that hungry (not unusual for him) but doing well, so that's a good. I can't wait for 3:30 though.

I called at noon and got an update (but I promised them I wouldn't be neurotic and call all the time).
Sounds like the teacher noticed Freya was a little timid with the other kids this morning, and so the teacher took she and the other little boy (the one who was having such a hard time) out on a walk, just the three of them. Freya got to throw rocks, which is her biggest past-time right now, and got much more settled in. They went back to the rest of the kids and she was doing great. Whew!
We're going to pick her up in 30 minutes...I'd be drumming my fingers on the desk right now if I weren't typing!
Sending good thoughts for Noah--I hope tomorrow is great too. Seems like the second day might be the hardest, based on our earlier experience.
