Backseat or frontseat which is safer in this situation?

Hi, I have a question for the carseat techs. I have a '96 Jeep as our second vehicle. The back seat of the Jeep has low seat backs with no head rests. My nine year old son is appoximately 55" inches tall and 115 pounds and is no longer in a booster seat. Is it safe for him to sit back there or is it safer for him to sit in front seat without an airbag, so he has the higher seat in case of an accident.

Thanks,
Dana

He should be in the front IMO b/c of the headrest issues. If he were lighter, he could use a booster, but at that weight he needs to be up front.

Thanks. That's what I thought, but I just wanted to get another opinion.

Yep, I'm not much bigger than your son & I sit in the front all the time

Just make sure you put the seat all the way back.
