We got back really early on Sunday morning from our trip to Cincinnati, OH. It was fun to get away, but I am so glad to be home again.
It was a twelve hour drive, but it wasn't that bad. I took the advice that was given and made plenty of stops to stretch and had plenty to drink & eat. We had planned to stop halfway the first day and spend the night in a hotel, BUT once we stopped to get a hotel EVERYTHING was booked! We drove for the next 6 hours stoppping at EVERY exit looking for a place to stay, but nothing was available. We finally just stopped at a truck stop and slept for a few hours because we were both exhausted. At least the vehicle the company gave us to drive was a Tahoe, so it was nice, big, and comfy! We were only two hours away from our hotel (which was FULL the night before or we would have just drove to it), so the next morning we got to the hotel by 9am and check in wasn't untl 4pm...UGH! By that time we had already been in the car for over 24 hours and I was going a little nuts. The hotel did finally get us into a room around 1:30pm.
The trip back home went much better. We did it in one day. The day before we met up with my mom & stepdad that live in MI and stayed with them for the night. We got to pick up the wooden high chair and cradle my stepdad made for me!! They are both just beautiful.
