Is baby beginning to kick TOO much?

At first it was amazing and made me smile. It reminded me I really was prego and there's a real baby in there. But sometimes now I want to say, "Just stop. Stop already!"

Of COURSE I don't really want it all to stop as that would freak me out. Kicking is the easy way to know all is well. But sometimes the beatings go on and on so many times per day that it's disturbing! And I am only 24 weeks. What will happen when this babe is huge?

That is all

You know, last night I was at that point- I was like, enough already! Dog was barking, DD was whining, dinner was burning, phone was ringing, baby was kicking... you know the drill.

Well, today she (belly DD) was really low key and I was like... Umm, I was kidding! Keep moving please! I can't win!

I know what you mean, between my acid reflux, bad head-cold, and now the thrush I have under my boobies : I can hardly ever get any sleep... of course, that is when the baby gets cranked up. I'm sure this child is going to be gargantuan too- I can feel it all over the place!!

OMG--I just logged on to start the same exact thread! Small world!

I am in the middle of trying to grade papers for my last course as a college professor (yay--I am so excited to be a sahm!). I have my students submit their papers online and then I grade them electronically and email them back (my little way of trying to save a few trees). Anyway, I usually work with my laptop on my lap on the couch, with my arms resting on my belly while I type. Well, the babe is kicking me so hard that she is literally making my hands fly off the keyboard! She isn't letting me get my work done!

This is all just so weird for me--DD was turned in toward my placenta the whole pregnancy--I never felt more than a squirm. It is so weird to finally know what all those women were talking about...I just love the little assurances that this babe is doing well in there!

Mainly when she's kicking my cervix. That is just a weird feeling, and I don't like it! Oh, and the fact that she somehow seems to cease all movement as soon as dh is in range to actually feel it. Stubborn little thing! If you must pummel me, let Daddy enjoy it too!

Us too! DD and DH have hardly ever felt her--she's totally messing with us! Of course it doesn't help that her really active time is like midnight and later, when they're both sleeping and I'm still up with my usual insomnia...

Well, at least it's not just me! I kid you not, one time she was moving in a really uncomfortable way, so dh stood up, walked over to my chair.....and she stopped! It's gotta be a coincidence, but it's so funny!

She doesn't like when anything touches my belly, so I can't even read or lay on my side in peace. I'm scared this means she hates cuddling!

Actually DD#1 never ever stopped moving, so this one seems mellow by comparison. I havn't gotten to the point where it is driving me crazy......yet:

Baby Sunshine (her nickname) doesn't seem to move too much. In fact, I think she moved more a month ago than she does now. I think she likes to "talk" to me when I'm quiet, the house is quiet, when I'm trying to sleep. She sleeps through the rest of the day, only barely adjusting here or there to get comfy. I wish she moved a little more.

Last night, sometime in the middle of the night, probably 3-4 a.m., dd2 came to get in bed with me. She was having trouble going back to sleep and baby Sunshine started moving and kicking like crazy. I asked dd if she wanted to feel the baby. It was pretty cool. She laid there with her hand on my tummy for 30 sec. or so and got to feel some pretty good kicks. She decided she was ready to go to sleep after that and rolled away from me. It was neat though.

For mine it's not so much that he kicks too much, but sometimes too hard, and in bad places! Hard kicks to the bladder are not too good.

It's even more fun when the dog jumps up on the bed and steps on my stomach to get to DH's side. As if the internal kicks weren't enough, I get external beagle kicks!

DD was obnoxious, kicking me so hard all the time and driving me crazy. This one is nice and mellow. I'm hoping since DD had horrific "colic" that means this one is my Buddha baby.

LOL I have a cat that likes to sleep on my belly! She'll get settled in on top of my belly and the pillow that I hug and start purring, and sure enough the baby will start kicking her! So funny!

The other thing I can probably do without is when it feels like he is S-T-R-E-T-C-H-I-N-G his little body out to see just how much room there really is in there. That is sometimes a bit unpleasant too. I remember DD used to do the same thing.

Ha! Mine does that too! She curls up on my body pillow and leans against by belly. I can't decide whether she "knows" something is different or if my huge belly just seems like a really cozy resting spot!
