Sam is just gaining some good head control, but still he tends to lean his head to one side...is this normal as they gain strength????

Worried mama....

it is probably normal but I babysat a kid the pother day whose head always had to stay to one side because he was layingh funny in the womb and one muscle grew inshorter than the other. so he is in erly intervention (he is four months. I would say if it doesn't show improvement in 4-6 weeks or by his next well baby check then i would discuss it with your Dr. It never hurts to check out these things.

A friend of my mom's had the same issue with her baby. At two months her ped. sent baby to the chiropractor for a couple visits. It wasn't a big deal, she was jsut a little crooked in the womb as well. After a couple of adjustments she was all straightened out!

Emmaline had something similar from lying funny in the womb. It was called torticollis (have to double check that spelling, lol) and we had a few visits with a physical therapist and learned some exercises and it's fine now.

PM me if you want me to dig out some of those exercise sheets and tell you what worked for us.

My son was breech, I don't know if it had anything to do with the fact that he couldn't turn his head very well to one side, made breastfeeding difficult. I took him to see our Chiropractor (when he was about 2 months old), and he was much better - after one adjustment, we did take him back a few times, to make sure it hadn't gone out again....
It made a huge difference.
