help~alot of pain

I need to make this quick, but on Monday I got my membranes swept/stripped, whatever you call it (I didn't know till it was already happening). I was due on Saturday, so that's why I decided to go ahead w/ an internal exam in the first place.
I started cramping heavy about an hour afterwards and it lasted about 18 hrs. where it hurt to lie down, sit, or do anything but stand. Yesterdy it was feeling a bit better, but last night decided to have sex to try to get contractions going and about an hour afterwards, the low cramping started again, but with lots of low back pain, I didn't get to sleep till 4 this morning and even then had to sit up in bed because lying down was too painful.

At one point I was thinking I must be in labor because I couldn't even get up off the floor from a crouched position or do anything but focus on breathing through the ***excrutiating***pain I was having. It didn't come in waves either. It was constant for hours, relieved 80% by walking around though.

What is this????? This morning I feel some aches, but maneageable.

Does this mean I might have back labor when I do go into labor?

I'm going to acupuncture right now to see if they can help move things along. I don't want to go through this for another # of nights. It has been unreal and also frustrating that I'm going through so much pain and I'm not in labor!

I'd try everything possible to get that baby in a good position! Sounds like it might be posterior.

Spend a LOT of time on your hands and knees this morning. Check out www.spinningbabies.com to get some more ideas.

I have a toddler pulling at me, or I'd try to find more for you! Good luck!

We are here with you, mama!

I don't have much advice other than a warm bath or some counter pressure on your back.

I hope this baby comes soon!! It's so nice out here little one- come on out!!

I don't really have advice other than agreeing with previous posters, but I hope you find relief soon, especially the kind that will have that precious babe in your arms!!

thanks for the posts. I just got back from acupuncture and it felt really good. The doctor who did it says its really common practice for him in China, but very few ladies here opt to try it for inducing labor. He says that the ones who he's seen here (very recent) both went into labor that day. His first words were, "Well, what's your plan?" then he said in all seriousness, "well, we don't want you to go into labor right here, so try to wait" or something like that in broken English

He was very cool and it felt great. I felt the baby move in a way that he hasn't for a few days or so, and my back pain seems alot better. I feel better, lighter, and more 'ready' on alot of levels. Hopefully he's rotated back if he was posterior and will come soon. I'll try to do hands and knees position today too. Godness, I can't say enough about getting the acupuncture though!

That sounds like labor to me. I hope to never have to experience back labor!! I really hope that the acupunture got him to turn around and be in a good position.

I've been feeling him move so much today and last night and his feet kicking me in the liver/ribs once again (yea!!) I haven't had any of that back pain again, so I'm thinking the acupuncture got energy moving to where he's back to 'normal' position again. I hope I never have back labor.. I feel like that was enough of a taste of it...it got me to not fear regular labor at all!!! I'm welcoming it w/open arms, so long as I don't have that back (and leg) pain again! I feel so bad for mamas that have to go through back labor, I couldn't even sit to pee, can't imagine trying to be in a position a pushing like that!!!!
