Ugh the smell!

Ds had a nasty poop earlier this morning. I'm talking hours ago. And I can still smell it! I can't get it out of my nose. I even left the house for a little while to get away from it and it followed us! I've washed ds 3 times now to see if that would help... nope. Make it go away I have a feeling it is all in my head at this point. And I can't open he windows because it is over 100 out side right now. I think I'm going to go hide under the blankets for a while.

I'm feeling pretty lucky thus far in this pregnancy. No real sickness, but I can definitely tell my sense of smell is heightened. It's not a huge problem this pregnancy because I'm a sahm, but last pregnancy I worked at Whole Foods by the hot food bar-uhh, I'm starting to feel nauseous just thinking about it.....

I've been super sensitive to smells over the past few days. A coworker is wearing some perfume that is driving me completely nuts. I swear I can smell it despite the fact that she sits nowhere near me. Another coworker had feta cheese on her salad at lunch (which is usually one of my favorites) and it was just awful. No barfing yet, but I'm sure it's coming.

I tossed some beef the other day and the next morning couldnt leave the room until hubby came home and threw out the trash. I was so hungry, LOL, but couldnt leave the sanctity of my sealed bedroom! I am so sensitive to smells right now. Even thinking about smells grosses me out.

Same here. I'm expecting m/s to come rolling through any day now. So many things smell so terrible and so strong, it just keeps on building up. Even my darling pickles are smelling bad to me. :

I noticed that last night too, and I almost shed a tear over it. :

I know this is kind of off topic but... I want to make a pickle-shaped cookie cutter and make green sugar cookies... so I can eat pickles and ice cream or frozen yogurt.
*gasp* Can sugar cookies EVER smell bad?!

They can if you burn them
And if that isnt the cutest babyshower idea I have ever heard, I dont know what is.

UGH! Here's a tip...
If your 2yo dd dumps the bowl of dog food down the bathroom sink, don't use the vacuum cleaner to suck it up. The drain cover is missing and so the drain was filled with wet dog food and I stuck the vacuum right over the hole. It worked, but it sucked up the nasty smell of wet dog food...and...and sewer smell and water. I don't think I'll ever be able to use that vacuum again.

I'll keep that in mind. I'm so sorry that happened to you. And thank you for passing it along. Have you tried poring lemon juice down the drain? Maybe a mix of some lemon juice, vinegar and baking soda?

Yipes! You poor thing. There are very few worse things that could happen to a poor, preggo mama, I'm sure.

Cutie Patootie -- ROTFLMAO ! That is so funny!

My worst smell moment so far was last Saturday when we grilled outside. It wasn't the horrendously nauseating ughiness I remember from #2, but just . . . I didn't like the smell. At all. I have that same feeling every so often with various things, but so far no full-blown bionic nose.

My m/s was worst with #2 (the boy), and there were many nights when DH had to shower (again) because I couldn't stand the smell of whatever it was we'd had for dinner. Onions were horrible. Most things were horrible. We ate tacos for a week straight because that was the only thing I didn't feel terrible about the morning after. But I shouldn't complain--I felt crappy for about 7 weeks, but I never threw up.

I kept a decent journal of the first three months of that pregnancy, and the m/s kicked in at day 39. For this pregnancy, that will be August 15. Counting down . . .

uhhhhh. smell. yuck. I found myself actually wishing I could lose my sense of smell for a couple months! That would certainly uncomplicate a lot!
We live on the bottom floor of an old brick duplex and have a wet basement and with the wetness comes a hoard of smells that are just ridiculously, insanely unhealthy and horrid.
The smell bothered me before I was even pregnant. A dehumidifier would help but that's dh's department and he hasn't really gone out looking for one. It's been rainy and humid here lately and it's making me so sick to my stomach!
I did figure out that if I saran wrapped the vents which seemed to have been seeping basement smell into the house, it cut on the smell. I got all of two vents covered yesterday before we ran out of wrap. So that's on the list for dh today.
I won't even change ds2's diaper if it's got poop! I tell him to take it off and stick him in the tub with running water. He usually does a good job of rinsing himself off. then I come in with a fan and open the window and by that time I can tolerate getting his bottom washed and dried and rediapered.

OMG! YES! I wanted to puke from the smell of chinese food! DF and DD had chinese when i was at work last night and I came home and the whole Apt smelt like it! Gross!!!

And Im normaly a huge garlic fan and I cant stand the smell right now!

garlic was horrible for me with my first! My mom had bought 5 lbs of garlic for us : and everytime I passed the bag they were in I'd get sick. I ended up figuring it out and gave it away (much to dh's chagrin).

With ds hot pockets killed me. I could smell them for hours after dh cooked some... they've been banned from the house ever since.

Ds is a stinky baby right now. It was so cute. I called him a stinky baby and then he sat down in the floor and took a big whiff of is foot and fell over I have a little comedian at the age of 18 months.

My girls at Lush are already planning mine. I don't have many friends out here, all of my family and friends are still at home in St. Louis, so after my "big shower" there the plans have always been to have a little party here, and the sales associates offered to help me plan/throw one. They are all excited it's so early to be thinking of showers, but seriously I wrote the pickle cookie and ice cream idea down because thats just genius right there.
