Power of 10 question on NIP

Anyone watch this game show?

One of the questions tonight was: What percentage of Americans think it is NOT appropriate to breastfeed in public?

The answer: 34%

That was actually lower than I thought it would be, with all the media coverage that quotes people who think it is gross, disgusting, etc. I thought it would be more like 40 or 50%

That is pleasantly surprising, because that means that 2/3 of Americans think it IS appropriate. That's progress! Of course, I'd be happier if it was 0%, but babysteps...

Sadly that 34% all seem to talk REALLY REALLY loud.

"OH THAT'S SO GROSSS!!! DO THAT IN THE BATHROOOOOM! WE DON'T NEED TO SEE YOUR BOOOOOBSSSS!"

It's like when something happens on the news around here. They always seem to find the most ignorant-looking redneck "local resident" to comment on the situation. The neighborhood may be a generally well-off area with educated professionals, but they find some guy named Bobby Joe with awful teeth and a wad of chew in his jaw to offer his scintillating commentary. "Yah I saw it happnin'! It were just the durndest thang!"

I watched it last night. When the question was displayed, DH shot me this "Oh no, she's gonna get started!" look.

I actually thought that it might be lower, like around 25%, but that's wishful thinking. I wonder how accruate their sampling is?

ihonestly thought it would be closer to 50%...

of course i muttered loud enough for DH to hear me say "and they'd be wrong"
