I would like to buy a simple inexpensive breast pump to have on hand for the few times I may be away from dd (5 months) for more than an hour or two, any suggestions?

I loved the Avent Isis, but you need star valves and they're discontinuing them. The duck bill valves just don't hold suction as well. It all depends on how quickly you pump.

I love the isis, you can pick one up in a nice bag w/ a couple of bottles for like $50. If it's true about the star valves, go get one now! I can pump about 8 - 12 oz in 30 minutes or less with one.

I like my Medela Harmony. I think it was $35. It is a nice and effective hand pump.
