Baseball and Breastfeeding DO mix!

I'm a frequent lurker who just had to post about my very positive experience last night at Angels Stadium in Anaheim, CA. My husband and I live in LA and are HUGE Red Sox fans. The Sox came to Anaheim this week and we just had to go to a game, which started at 7. We had to leave LA around 3:30, and we wouldn't be returning until 11pm. Since I'm still nursing our little one, and he would be staying at home with our nanny, my first question was, "Where the ??? am I going to pump?" I have a converter to use in the car, but we were driving down with my brother-in-law and another male friend, so that was out of the question. So...

I called the Stadium's main line and spoke to a lovely woman, who told me that there was a section for nursing moms in the park, and I was welcome to use my pump there. I went through security with no problems (the guard even told me that I wasn't the first pumping mama he'd seen) and went to the First Aid area, where there was a SPOTLESS room curtained off, and an equally spotless bathroom if I wanted more privacy. I plugged in, pumped away, and still made it in time for the first pitch. It was so great!

Just wanted to share, in case anyone's thinking of taking in a game sans nurslings this summer...

Wow! That's awesome!! Plus, if you had your baby with you and needed a quiet place to go (since baseball games can get so loud!) it's nice to know that's there, too. More parks need to do that!

yay! I'm glad you had a good experience! I've nursed during a sox game in CA (oakland) too lol, but I had my babe so we just nursed in the seats (of course with her unlatching everytime there was a good play, so she could clap )
This is the second thread I've seen about a stadium being nursing/pumping friendly, and that makes me soooo happy as I'm a big baseball fan!

What a great experience. Glad you were able to take care of business and enjoy the game.

Yeah Sox!!! (says BoSoxMama ) And yay for having pumping areas for mamas!!

Can I share too?!:
My favorite NIP story is one that happened during the Mother's Day Miracle Game. (Whoa, what a great ninth inning, but that's another story!)

I had my then three month old with me. We had tickets behind home plate in the front row. I have nursed my kids in COUNTLESS public places but some reason got NIPshy at Fenway. Well, I could not find a place to nurse that was not in the public spotlight-- believe me, I looked. So I gave in and nursed right there in the stands. Behind home plate, among thousands of fans, and with the cameras rolling. Guess what, no one said a word! Nothing has ever given me more NIP confidence than that afternoon. And of course it was a game I will remember for the rest of my life!

Gotta run... game's on!

Another Cardinals fan here! But good for you anyway! How cool they had someplace nice for you to pump.

My DD was another baby I had to take someplace private to nurse during MLB games. She totally would have been popping off to clap for plays - that's hilarious, Mama Moose! Busch Stadium let me bring her into the medic station to nurse.

bosoxmama, I am so envious of your tickets its not even funny :

I also felt a boost of confidence NIP in a stadium too though, I always hoped they'd put us on the big screen

nothing like nursing in a crowd of thousands!
