Positive WIC breastfeeding commercial!

During General Hospital today there was an ad listing some positives for breastfeeding. I only caught some of it, so I'm not sure if they showed the mom breastfeeding. They were saying how beneficial it is for the mother to breastfeed, listing the decreased risk of breast cancer and so forth and then they added a little blurb about how it was good for baby too. Anyway, I thought I was dreaming, and then they said that it was sponsered by the PA WIC department.

It made me very hopeful! This has got to be a sign for progress!

I noticed that here on the radio commercials for wic they don't even mention formula. Even when they say what wic can do for you they say "wic gives you checks to buy healthy food" and then there are testimony things and one lady says "wic helped me with bfing" but no one ever says anything about ff. Is it like that everywhere?

VA WIC is supposed to have a similar media campaign that runs until March of next year. I haven't seen anything on TV yet, but we don't watch a lot of network TV. I keep forgetting to look for billboards, and well, public radio doesn't do commercials. It's cool that you saw that in your area, especially at a time of day a lot of women are watching.
