Hi all! Babies are here!!!
Induction was initially canceled due to no room and then they called us in later in the day instead.
38w2d I went in for an 'induction' on 8/9 and they broke my water at 12:45 pm. Only 3 hours of labor! I had a pretty severe hemorrage postpartum, but don't feel poorly.
Pushed for 2 mins for Mr. Murphy aka Baby A was born at 3:50 pm weighing 7 lbs 10 oz and then for 4 minutes for Ms. Maria aka Baby B was born at 3:56 pm weighing 6 lbs 9 oz Sunny side up! But NO back labor. That is just over 14 lbs of baby!!
Will post more and pics later
Intersting little 'fact'....Murphy was the same weight as his singleton sister I carried almost 2 years ago to the day and both were born at "50" past the hour! Both of my kiddos were also born at the same time past the hour. Odd huh?? So, for 8 days less 'cooking' as a twin he was the same weight as his big sis.
Both look well cooked and have long fingernails and TONS of dark hair and perfectly round little heads for little time in the birth canal.
Hope everyone is doing well!!!
Updated with pics!
Babies and I both went home 46 hours after birth. The babies were ready to go at 24, but I needed to stay for a few more blood counts--which all were surprisingly good. YAY! I go in for more bloodwork in 2 weeks and hopefully things will be rising nicely.
I feel amazing. Body wise, I feel better than even after my first singleton birth when I went and played in a softball game 5 days postpartum (crazy 21 yo mommy LOL). But I definitely COULD if I wanted to!
Here are a few pictures:
Me tandem nursing the evening they were born.
Yawning...baby yawns are TOO cute.
All 5 of the babies I've birthed! The big boys are mine and the other three are my surro-bubs.
