We started home schooling yesterday

I got bored and decided to read aloud to the kids from Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix which is one of the books I was saving for "school." I found this website with little activities for after each chapter and I couldn't resist. Plus, I won't be doing much until we get moved... and it looks like that is in for yet another delay...

Anyway, the kids loved the first chapter.

Reading the HP books to my kids someday is something that I'm dreaming about! I can't wait to share them...

I'm reading through the series now, for the first time. Wanted to see what al lthe fuss was about. Thought it may have just been successful marketing and peer pressure.

Man, was I wrong! I am on the 5th book now and am LOVING this series. I hope my kids take an interest when they are older (oldest isn't quite 5, and she wouldn't handle the scary bits well right now).

In the meantime, I may have to read them outloud to my husband instead.

Yeah, kids can be so different in what they like. Mine all love scary stuff and generally got into it around the age of 3 with Godzilla movies and such. Now they think nothing of zombies! They crack me up. They sleep like rocks and I get the nightmares.
