It hasn't been an easy decision to make and I'm still torn about it, but I've decided to do it. I'm 40w3d right now, 3+cm dilated and my cervix is ripe and ready according to my midwife. I'm having contractions, but no regularity with them even though some are quite painful.
The reason why I've decided to be induced? It may seem silly to some, but my husband is stationed in Korea for a year and he's here right now visiting and has to go back soon. I want him to have as much time with the baby as possible before he has to go back in a couple of weeks. If we weren't in this situation, I would wait for labor to happen naturally. I'm waiting for my midwife to call right now and let me know when I can go to the hospital for my induction. I was set on having as much of an intervention free birth as possible, but I know now that my chances of that are happening are small. I'm going to be strong though. If anything, I'm determined to do this drug-free at least.
