True blue... great idea! The kids and I are off to Target. I will see what they have going on. Last year they had some great deals. 10 note books for a buck, lined paper for 15 cents that sort of thing.

I love being able to get some much stuff for so little $15.00 goes a long way!

I love love love the cheap notebooks!! I always have one in my purse so I buy tons at back to school time. I love the cheap crayons too!

I just posted in another thread about this. My husband and I bought a ton of stuff tonight at the Target sales.

I love the sales, but I always overshop... I think the last time I did a big supplies spree was three falls ago, and we still have some stuff I love the cheap notebooks, and it's about the only time I can find cheap unlined notebooks (the dollar store always has lots of cheap notebooks, but mostly lined paper). My 5 yo can draw for hours and goes through notebooks quickly; and I don't think the lines bother him, but I like seeing his drawings on plain paper.

Can anyone tell me if they've found pencil crayons they are happy with? I find that Crayola and Laurentian both don't sharpen well... either the coloured lead breaks and you have to sharpen again, or the wooden casing cracks. Maybe I'm using cheap sharpeners? Prang, so far, seems to sharpen the best and it colours well -- rather surprising to me, since it is usually an inexpensive brand.

Brisen, go to an art supply store and get one of the little silver metal ones with a sharp razor. I've always used Crayola pencils and those sharpeners work the best!
Brisen - where are you finding the cheap unlined notebooks? I've been looking unsuccessfully so far.

I love these school sales! I have always loved stationary and the like. I've been a hoarder ever since I was little. I'm sure this is why I buy tons and hoard scrapbooking supplies! I'm sure this is also why I love to scrapbook and make cards!

I love this time of year. We bought about fifteen $.10 spiral notebooks last night. Kenzie got right to work filling them all up.

my dad used to sharpen my pencils with a craft knife/swiss army knife, otherwise if i used a sharpener, even the steel ones, you have to go really slow as to not have it snap.

the desk mounted sharpeners and the eletric ones work really well though.

I spent about $5 on crayons (this last time I have hit the sales quite a few times since they started this year) and got 25 packs of 24 crayons! My kids draw a LOT and go through crayons like water so these should last until... October I still need to get more paper, pencils, notebooks, and crayons but I have to hold off until payday I LOVE this time of year!

I love, love, love the sales, but always feel a little guilty getting things so cheaply. I worry that someone somewhere is getting stiffed out of some money. This doesn't stop me; I just feel guilty.
