Our little one is here!

Sorry so late but with this catnapping, marathon nursing newborn.. you know how it goes!

our daughter Amarina Maxine was born July 31st, she was 7lb 11oz and 20 in.

I had a night of mild contractions and when they continued after I awoke I knew it was the day... by 11am I was in active labor, called the midwife and husband & had the kids go to a friends to play. Mw arrived at 1pm, by 4pm I was at nearly 9cm, half an hour later my water broke and soon I was pushing.

I have to mention here that I used Hypnobabies and while I did experience discomfort, I was never miserable or discouraged. I can't believe how quick and smoothly my labor went. It was an incredible, positive experience that I'll always be grateful to have had.

After two hours of pushing, the baby developed decels that were not recovering well at all and getting worse as time passed, so we made the decision to transfer to the hospital. Our daughter was delivered by c/s at 8:14pm. It was disappointing to have come so far only to end up with another c/s, but at the same time I am of course amazed and thrilled to be the mom of a little girl for the first time!:

Congratulations! I'm sorry your birth ended in a c/s (mine, too!), but I'm glad your baby is here safely and hope you are healing well!
