My 6 year old son and I just saw a you tube video about lapbooking and he is very excited about trying something like this. Can someone please give me some ideas about how to do lapbooks and some possible subjects or themes to use them with.
thanks in advance

As for subjects or themes, anything you want to do. We have done the Abyss (which was super fun to learn about for me but DD suggested it ), tidepools, coral reefs, and sea urchins. Can you tell we are on a ocean kick lately. For DS who is only 4 I am going to let him do some of the letters of the alphabet. He can just write the letters or cut out pictures and make a collage of things that start with that letter. He loves doing this but wants to do a lapbook too.

Yahoo has a lapbook group,In the files section there's lots of links for useful folds. It also tells how to fold for an expanded file and circle books(my fav)
www.handsofachild.com -lapbook units for sale, monthly freebies

www.homeschoolhelperonline.com -free lapbook printables

Every now and then I'll google the topic just to see what's up.I never cease to be amazed at the creative ideas folks come up with.

I am an avid scrapbooker so this will be a TON of fun for me!

My kiddos want to "learn" to scrapbook, so I'm sure this will be very enjoyable for them as well.

Was it this one?

Also, how do you fold the paper the way you want it for lapbooking purposes? I'm hopeless when it comes to structured arts and crafts.

Off to do some more internet searching...
