We used Primer last year.

I went into it knowing it was introductory and that he probably could have started with Alpha. He loved it.

I think my reasoning was that I'm not pushing him--especially in kindergarten. So I didn't mind if it was easy for him. I just wanted to him to get the feel of doing math and I thought if it was easy and fun for him that's not a bad introduction.

We started with the primer even though DD knew easily half of it. We did that because I wanted to kind of ease her into it, as she doesn't take changes to her routine very well. But she probably could've skipped it and been fine. SHe went through the primer and alpha in one school year.

I'm trying to decide if I want to order Primer for my not-quite-4 yo. (October bday.) Last night she threw a fit because I told her we had to go to bed. "But MOMMY! I want to learn ALL my ALPHABETS!"
