I love this birth, the ecstatic joy the mama is experiencing brings tears to my eyes, every time.

Turn up your speakers, ignore the cheesy music, grab a tissue.

OK, I'm not finished yet. . .

Literally, my face was actually doing this smiley all the way through that video. And now I'm just thinking "Huh!" I'm mean, great for her (obviously) but I just can't imagine how rare that must be.

It was a little surreal. . . the obvious lack of any pain or even overwhelming physical stress (even if it wasn't intense enough to call "pain") is abundantly clear by her expressions. It was like she was watching that baby coming out of somebody else!

Cool video! Thanks for sharing

That rocks!

Hypnobabies has a reputation of getting births like that Manitoba. There are a lot of UCers who also "feel no pain". It's all about perception and expectations.

That was truly inspiring! I loved it! Amazing that she did that on her back and her care providers just watched and dad caught baby.

Can't watch it without signing up as it has been deemed 'inappropriate':

What a beautiful video! I tried to have my son watch it with me, but once the babies head was coming out he was more interested in watching elmo's potty time. ... kids!

Birth 6 from the same user is a TWIN BIRTH! Second baby born breech!

Oh My!

I don't think she was *necessarily* pain-free, she was just really working with her body in a quiet way. I wouldn't describe my births as pain-free, but I tend to labor really quietly and peacefully, and if I hadn't had people loudly coaching me to push now, push harder, etc, I could totally see myself having a birth like that! It feels GOOD when the ring of fire stops and the head is out, and oh, what a joy to have people just chill out and let your body ease out the baby instead of forcing you to evict him.

I'm hoping for an unhindered birth like that this time around!! What a joy!!!

Oh My!

YES! And no one touched her either, looks like it may have been the same hospital (French?).

It was so amazing to watch! I must have watched that 15 times.

So, is that what they mean by "hands off the breech"? Do you think the head could have been birthed without pulling the baby directly up? Her perineum was so amazingly stretchy!

I think they might have been French. Didn't everyone look so happy to be there? And their daughter was in the room!

That's the way I was taught to assist a breech, hands off until you see the nape of the neck, create an airway, then tumble the baby over onto mother's abdomen. I think it's to protect the baby's head, not so much the perineum.

thanks for sharing- also watched #6 and that movie looks like it was in the 60's or 70's -- I also think that it doesn't mean that these births were "painfree" looks like both women were working with their bodies- the first video we were sent a link for looks as though the woman has a mirror to look into -- and her joy is fabulous ..
on the breech- the hands off is some what what I have been taught except for instead of having a table/surface that the baby lands on- there is more of a drop that way the body comes down if it is anterior and flexes the neck /chin to chest and instead of up and out --- then you put fingers in mouth to help hold flexion and baby emerging downward-

WOW! That was so fricken' awesome! Nurses, back position, and hospital bed aside, I think that video is an awesome example of a mama doin' her own thing. *happy sigh*
