new timerHi all
I'm doing my first insemination Tuesday - I'm an insemination virgin and, I gotta admit, a little nervous. We only decided to do this 2 weeks ago so I'm reading all the info very quickly and am more than a little overwhelmed.
I live with my partner and the baby-daddy (my partner had a baby - whose 10 weeks old now - with the baby-daddy (but we didn't do home insemination with my partner so are still not heaps sure what to do).
I've got sperm on tap so I can inseminate as many times as necessary. I just don't know the necessary part...the web sites seem to say start 4 - 5 days before ovulation, up until the day of ovulation (I have no idea when this'll occur since I haven't had time to follow my cycle yet). But how regularly should I do it? Every 2 days? Every day? And then til how long after I ovulate? Just on that day, or the day after? Etc, etc...
Also, do you just use a barrel to do the actual insemination? Do you try to place the sperm next to, or inside the cervix (I've heard both said). Finally, can you buy a speculum from the chemist?
Sorry for the million questions!! I've got 2 days to figure this all out!
