I have a persistent ache in my lower back since having a c-section under a spinal on July 30. It feels like it's where they put the needle in - in my spine, not in the lower back muscles. Anyone else have this? Any idea how long it's going to last? It's not the most painful thing in the world, but it brings back memories of my back labor with my first son, which is unpleasant.

I'd actually forgotten about it, because of everything else that was going on, but I had that with ds2. Surgery was July 26th, and I think the back pain went away in early September.

That is very common and you should let your doctor know about it.
Let the anesthesiologist know about it.
Get your records first, though.
Be prepared to be told it is all in your mind. Be glad you did not have a spinal headache from it.
Some women get relief from chiropractic or accupuncture treatment (more needles?). You can try that.

I'm 2 1/2 yrs post c/s and the lower part of my back where they put the spinal in is still sore. It's not an everyday kind of thing, but most definitely sensitive if I were to push on the area. From what I understand it is very common.

:My mom was given her first spinal without knowing about it (long labour, and already heavily drugged). She woke up in a room, alone, with no baby, and unable to feel her legs. Nobody could understand why she was freaking out. She sat up to the best of her ability and got yelled at, because the nurse wanted to know if she "wanted a spinal headache". Ugh.
Out of three spinals, she only ended up with one headache...and even as a lifelong sufferer of severe migraines, she remembers it as about the worst pain she ever felt.
Oooh....I hate needles in the spine...

Mine isn't a constant ache, but I can find the spot on my back where the needle was inserted and it's tender to the touch. 19 mos. post c/s.
I've also heard that this is very common.

It's common. My OB said it's due in some cases to the tiny bit of scar tissue that builds up at the injection site. They suggest chiro adjustments and gentle stretching, and those stick-on hot pads can help too.
My injection site was painful to the touch for a year then it faded into just a "now and then" ache.

Visit a chiropractor...it took only one adjustment for me to lose that feeling you're describing (it may take you more...but it was SO worth it)...
