I have a baby! *Updated with pics*

Just checking in and WOW there are a lot of babes! I have one too! Congratulations to all the mommas and I'll look forward to catching up on everyone's details soon. Here's the quick rundown:

My baby boy was born Friday morning the 10th at 10:29. Labor started thurs
night with water breaking at about midnight and progressed wonderfully. I actually enjoyed labor quite a lot, did most of it by myself over night while hubby slept. Baby was born after about an hour and a half of pushing, in our living room with my midwife, hubby and two sisters-in-law present. He was and is wonderful.

Unfortunately I bled quite severly afterwards, sort of a delayed hemorrhage, as the uterus wouldn't contract. My excellent mw managed everything with calm and care...We started with homeopathics and massage and then needed cytotec & pitocin to finally bring it under control. I got the shakes really bad and it was about 4 hours before I was really stable. I am so grateful to have been at home, however as I believe it would have been so much scarier in the hospital. No one ever panicked, I always felt under control. As soon as I was ready, I was able to be with my boy and begin working together on nursing.

Update:

Things are going quite well, I'm doing 1000 times better. When milk came it, it was a bit challenging
and I'm still having some pain, but Ariel doesn't seem to have any issues at all. He's fine sucking away.
And I have plenty of milk, so I've been pumping a little, because he doesn't seem to be able to get it
all! Since the first meconium poops, we have been working on EC and I've been "catching" poops in a
little potty. My six-day old poops in a potty! So far, if I give him the opportunity and the encouragement,
he goes there... Very neat! Alas, the peeing thing is harder to figure out.. He pees in his sleep most
often, so don't know how to "catch" that, since just about every time he's sleeping so am I!! We mostly
keep him in prefolds as well as some fitted cloths, usually without a cover so we'll know when he's
wet. Makes for lots of changing and lots of laundry, but he's comfy. When we go out, we'll use a
cover (wool or pul). I'm just trying to get myself geared up to finish some school work and it is not
easy! I just want to focus on the little one and myself and everything else seems extraneous.

Hope all is well for those with their babes outside and inside!!
