help! nursing 9m old while pg... supply issues...

I'm about 14w pg, and DS is 9m old. I'm a little concerned that he's not getting as much mama's milk that I'd like him to have at this age since I'm pg. He still 'nurses' often, and throughout the night, but I read so much about supply during pgcy, that I want to do whatever I can to keep things going. He eats anything and everything off the table, so it's not a hunger thing, just a nutrition thing...

anyone btdt? or have any advice? I'm tempted to take a bit of fenugreek, but my cx is already 1.5 cm, and I have a cerclage in place to keep things from changing...

thanks!!!

I'm thinking the fenugreek is not safe for pregnancy.
I would try just frequent pumping/feeding to try to increase supply.Removing milk from the breast frequently will foster more supply. But watch to ensure that further nursing is not what's sending you into labor.

i got prego with my second when dd was only 5m so, i've been there. i was very concerned with my milk supply. it didn't really drop too bad until i hit somewhere around 25weeks. then when i was about 35weeks it went back to normal. the only real advice i can give, is just keep breastfeeding. i tried pumping, but it was just more stress then anything. i tried the teas and honestly i didn't notice a difference. for some reason eating oatmeal felt like it helped. and lots and lots of liquids. i also put her at my breast as often as possible. even when it was painful. i just kept telling myself i'm doing this for her health. now she is 20m old and my little one is 6m. both are breastfeeding. another plus about bfing through a pregnancy is you don't have the same issues when your milk comes in. no engourgment because the older child takes care of it. i'm definetly going to bf through my next pregnancies! well good luck and congrats on your pregnancy.

I nursed through pregnancy but my DS was 18 months old when I got pg. Just keep an eye on wet diapers, making sure baby is getting enough of your milk. Moms can have very different experiences nursing during pregnancy, many moms lose their milk but not all do. (I did.)
