I'm sick and I have a prescription for abx - is it safe?

I have been given a prescription for Biaxin and I'm trying to find out how safe it is to take while nursing. One online reference says that it is rated C, possible to fetus, but it does not mention while nursing.

Is there an online resource that discusses which prescriptions are safe to take while nursing?

According to Hale's it an L2. If you want to know what it says, I can write it.

Could you please? I don't know what L2 means. Thanks in advance!

Sure!

L2 SAFER
Drug which has been studied in a limited number of breastfeeding women without an increase in adverse effects in the infant. And/or the evidence of a demonstrated risk which is likely to follow use of this medication in a breastfeeding woman is remote.

Baby gets about 2% of your dose, so don't worry. If you do feel the need to be concerned, watch for diarrhea or diaper rash.
