13 weeks and already feeling HUGE! (pic)

I'm just over 13 weeks along now, and I don't remember feeling this big and heavy last time... I know the heavy feeling is because I don't have the muscle tone I used to after carrying twins, but I am feeling so huge and starting to worry that there might be 2 in there again! Please tell me I am not the only one measuring this big at 13 weeks!

Very nice belly! I don't have my 14 week picture up yet, but I was also huge at 13 weeks and my employer thinks I am lying about how far along I am. I'm sure I have the dates right, since the baby was conceieved by artificial insemination and there were no attempts for several months before the one that "worked".

There is just a wide, wide variation among what is "normal", even different pregnancies of the same woman. I rented an apartment without anyone knowing I was pregnant at 8 1/2 months with Phoenix. I wore a white dress at my wedding and no one knew I was pregnant at 5 months with big dd. I didn't show with ds for quite some time, either, but I had to dress very carefully to keep people from noticing this one before 12 weeks.

I have not had an ultrasound (nor do I intend to) but my intuition is telling me very strongly that there is only one person in there and that s/he is just a bit big for his/her age, or bigger than I am accustomed to, and I'm sure my age has something to do with it since there is a 16 year gap between my two youngest.

I can't really say anything else to reassure you, other than the fact that it is statistically improbable for anyone to have two sets of twins in succession with no singletons in between. That doesn't mean that it's impossible, just that it's unlikely.

I don't think you look particularly huge: I haven't done a belly pic in 6 weeks or so, but I'm not much smaller than you (there's just a bit more of me to start with.)

your belly is soooo cute! i honestly have to say i did this when i saw your belly! it's amazing how fast you get big when you already had kids or mulitiples.

I look about like that, but this is my second pregnancy and I'm carrying twins. I'm 13 weeks, too. If your first ones were conceived naturally and are fraternal, you could be one of those people genetically predisposed to releasing more than one egg. But I'm assuming that you're hoping for one?

I'm 16 weeks with one (I think) and that's about what mine looks like. My only other pregnancy was over 4 years ago and I stayed tiny with her so I really think you just get nice and stretched out after the first one, more so for you since you had twins!

I think that's a beautiful preggo belly you have!

Well, I'm not as big as you, sorry...but you look BEAUTIFUL! Enjoy it! Great pic!

Thanks for talking me down mamas... not feeling much like a freak of nature anymore!
My first preg w/ twins was natural and fraternal, so the possibility of another set of twins, although unlikely, has crossed my mind... we'd be thrilled of course. (despite already running out of space here in our little 1br home!)
It's not so much the size of the belly I'm concerned about, I am loving that I finally look prego... it's more the weight of it that caught me off guard this time... if I feel this heavy now, how am I gonna feel in 5-6 months?! I wasn't nearly this big or heavy at this point in my twin preg, but I guess that's normal for preg #2.
Anyone know of any muscle toning excersizes safe to do while preg?

I think you look great. You do look a bit big, but some people do that!!!! However....I know this doesn't make you feel better LOL...buy my grandmother was pregnant with 3 sets of twins....4 pregnancies, only one singleton....so watch out!!!

You look very cute, if you are worried about twins you could maybe feel to see where your uterus is? I know I can feel the top of mine right about at my pantyline (I wear low riding undies), about 2 -3 inches from my navel. I'm about 14.5 weeks. Although my belly is sticking out a lot more than I would think from that.
Anyway, for exercise, you could do some yoga-type things. Natural Pregnancy (i think, it's by Aviva Jill Romm) has some good exercises in it.

I think you look fab! And I am very envious of your roundness. My belly is just pointy, and rises and falls with the times. But I'm sure you're jutting out because of the loss of muscle tone from carrying twins last time.
An ab exercise that you can do while pg, that also helps with diastasis recti is to sit up straight in a straight backed chair. Then focus on pulling your belly button into your spine. It should be little contractions. And just work up to as many as you can do. It helps your front tummy muscles reconnect and strengthen, without putting pressure on anyone/anything. If I didn't explain them well enough, pm me and I"ll hunt up a link for you. Oh, and also pilates is great for pregnancy. Good luck!
