Strech marks already! 15weeks

So, I don't know why, but for some stupid reason, I did not think that I would actually get strech marks.... I'm overweight to begin with, and I only had a few light strech marks. But now, I have two pink strech marks on my lower belly. I have only gained 8 pounds! I still weigh less than at my highest weight! I do feel like i gained 20 pounds and not just 8... I'm not used to having weight on my belly.. I usually have a huge butt and thighs.

I'm using the Palmers cocoa butter lotion for strech marks. I hope it helps.

Anyone else with strech marks already? What are you using?

i have stretch marks on my breasts, hips and upper thighs, but not from pg. my mom never got them with us 3 kids, so i think it is genetic (somewhat). i got them from growing breats too fast ( i went from a b to a DD over the summer when i was 14). and then i suffered from an ed and my weight fluctuated by 40 pounds for several years.

but from my dear friends with stretch marks that were kept at bay during pg, they used coconut oil, shea butter and/or vit e oil.

cheers mama!

I'm getting some, but they're on my butt and outer thighs! WTH is that all about?! And I've only gained half a lb in 16 weeks.

Cocoa butter really does nothing for stretch marks {my BF swears it causes them, lol!.} The things the PP mentioned will work better to help with skin elasticity.

Unfortunately, nothing you do or don't do will prevent stretch marks. (despite companies claims) Some people just have more elastin in their skin. Its genetic. If your mama had them, or your grandma had them, chances are.. you'll get them too.

I've got 2 on either side of my belly button! My moms stomach looks like a map of them,so I know I will probably have the same. She can even remember which one of us gave her any specific mark, lol.

I think it's funny that people associate stretch marks with pregnancy only. I've had them since puberty. And my brothers even have them!

But hey if you've got them from pregnancy only - woohoo to you! Battlewounds baby! Besides I think the stretch marks have to do with things shifting around, rather than just weight gain. I've not really gained any weight, but I know my hips area takes up more space, so maybe that's what's going on, a little internal rearrangement!

I can remember which of my children gave which ones too, and they ask me to tell them over and over and point out which ones, and what I named them. Yes, I named my stretch marks. That is, until I got too many and started running out of names.

As icky as they might look... my children look at them with pride because they know they made those. So thats how I look at them as well.

I'm pretty sure this pregnancy is just making me notice stretch marks that were already there. I'm like, "when did those show up?" but I'm pretty sure they're not that new...oh well. Who says you can't be hot and have stretch marks?!?!

I also got stretch marks during puberty, so I shouldn't have been surprised when I got them during pregnancy. But, I was! My mother and grandmother didn't have them. And, I didn't have a single stretch mark until I was past my due date. How's that for not having an induction slapping you in the face! By the time DD came out 10 days late, My skin was destroyed and I was covered in stretch marks. My belly is still overstretched, won't go away unless I have surgery. I'm okay for now, at least I look good in clothes.

Okay, don't ask me where I read this cuz it was so long ago but I heard that drinking water helps put more elstisity in your skin. I do believe it's hereditary but I think some things can make it better or worse.

Get as much moisture inside (water) and out (lotion)as you can. Who knows if it will help or now but I would rather try and see than do nothing at all.

Seconding the water intake theory, it really is supposed to help with elasticity. And even if the cocoa butter isn't keeping those stretch marks at bay, it just feels good to put it on, especially further along, when the skin gets so tight and itchy!

I thinks that's what the stretch marks on my butt on thighs/hips are from. I gained like 20 lbs in 3 months (after returning from Iraq, nice) so now that I'm pregnant 6 months later I'm paying more attention. What's weird though is that the first place I got stretch marks when pregnant w/ dd was on my butt too. I guess my backside thinks it needs to counter-balance my boobs!
