Our kids love the silver polishing , plant misting and wiping, flower arranging trays, also transferring water as mentioned by spoon or by sponge. Pouring water and beans, using tweezers to field corn are also very satisying. One thing the kids enjoy at that age is taking one or two of the sand paper letters, for example A, and B and placing them on a tray with a small sack of items to sort by beginning letter sound ( button, bow, box, ball, apple, etc..) Some of the well known items like the pink tower, spindles for counting out, number rods with number cards for math are very poplar, also sound boxes to shake and match and the sensorial items that age love. A feel and find bag to match fabric textures or shapes, knobbed puzzles are good at preschool age too. I think ebay has some sandpaper numerals and letters listed.
