2week old-pulling off the breast

My two week old daughter keeps pulling off. I get her latched good and then she pulls back-arches her back and screams. I don't have a fast letdown so I know I am not drowning her. It only happens during the day. She nurses great at night. She also wants to nurse like every 25 minutes, is this normal. I am getting really frusterated with the pulling off thing. I can't get her to eat for more that 30 seconds without having to relatch her!! Any advice is welcome. Thanks

ps. I also wanted to add that I have already cut out my dairy--for almost a week now-- and no improvement whatsoever!

Sounds typical. Its what my 12 week old was doing when she was younger.

My dd nursed very frequently during the day.

Frequent pulling off and back arching may be a sign that baby is gassy and need to burp before continuing to feed. Frequent feeding at 2 weeks is very common as well, babies go through growth spurts where they want to eat more to increase your milk supply. Congratulations on the new baby and good luck with breastfeeding.

Pulling off arching and screaming could be reflux. Talk to your dr about it, and start eliminating ALL dairy (including casein/whey). Go to kellymom.com for other reflux suggestions.

Frequent feeding could be a normal growth spurt or could also be a reflux sign. Call your local LLL leader for some positional tips. PM me if you want more reflux advice...I have a little guy the drs wantes to put on a feeding tube because of severe reflux.
