Reglan and milk supply...

I'm going to be away from DD for a few days and will be pumping. My pumping output is crappy and no where near what I think DD is actually getting at the breast. I'm not necessarily trying to match what she would drink...but I do worry about "drying up"

I plan on bringing my pump with me and pumping q3-4 hours. I was also wondering if taking some reglan for the time I'm gone would help keep my supply up or even increase it. My supply right now is normal. DD gets everything all the milk she needs from the breast. I've also been pumping during the day in addition to nursing her. So will reglan make my already adequate supply "super-abundant" or does it just bring low supply mamas up to a somewhat normal level? (I'm having a hard time wording this...but I think y'all get what I'm trying to ask)

Sorry in advance if this is a goofy question.

Personally, I think if my supply were adequate and I was going away for just a few days, I would not worry about "loosing supply". Any decrease caused by the pump will jump back within a few days back with your child. Just have a "nurse in" together if you can. A mother without supply issues, generally should not develop them in a short term separation with pumping. Long term is a different story.

Reglan IMO should only be used by those moms with known low supply issues. Reglan carries the risk of PP depression among other things, it also is usually only used in the first 3 months for low supply and for a set number of days. It becomes less effective as the PP period moves forward.

Domperidone on the other hand can be introduced at any time. Again, I would not suggest it for a mom who is not having low supply problems. And really should be used after other measures to increase supply have not produced adequate results. It isn't without risks.

I would just try to pump frequently and drink plenty of water. you could consider some Mother's Milk Tea to drink too.
