I'm not sure if I should do nipple stimulation and try to get things going or just relax and wait. Contractions are about 5 minutes apart. They have a sharp little peak, but pretty mild still.

DH is nagging me about calling the hospital, but I don't want to be 'on the clock' officially yet. I'm GBS negative, so I don't have to worry about that.

Oh mama, tell your DP no way!! The longer you stay at home, the better chance you have of any hospital interventions from screwing with your labor. Great about the GBS. Stay hydrated, eat, rest, and try some nipple stim. It might take a while, though, up to an hour or more. Also, keep in mind that that 24 hour thing that OBs insist upon about ruptured membranes and infection is because HOSPITALS ARE FILTHY PLACES. Most HB midwives are okay with DAYS because the germs on your house are your own!! So stay home and get that party started!! No penetration, but orgasms are good for labor, so get lovey, too!!

Congratulations!!! Just plan on giving yourself tonight, at LEAST, to get some rest and wait things out. Doctors and hospitals and all that can wait until the morning... or later!

Get your thermometer out, and check your temperature every couple waking hours. And don't be afraid to lie to the hospital when you do go in, and say "oh, my water just broke, so I rushed right in." Haha. What they don't know won't hurt them.

I did just a few minutes of nipple stimulation and stopped. That gave me contractions 2-4 minutes apart for an hour. Now they are like 10-15 minutes apart. Part of me wants to just go to sleep, but I'd rather have the baby sooner so I guess I'll commit to the nipple stimulation. Thanks everyone!

Unfortunately I'm still here. I had good contractions with nipple stimulation for like three hours, but my nipples got sore, so I had to stop. I went to bed and slept pretty good, and I'm glad I did, I feel really good and refreshed.

It's been like 12 hours since my water broke, so I'm ready to head off to the hospital for induction. Not what I had planned, but oh, well. But I'm still excited!

Good luck! Remember you can always ask them to turn pitocin off/down after your contractions have gotton going...sometimes that's all you need, and its so much nicer to be off the monitors. Can't wait to hear more!

Good luck mama! Just curious...why induce? You could try a manual orgasm and a little more nipple stim before going. It might work.
