Milk makes me nauseous

Does it make anyone else feel this way. I am mid way past week 13 (yay!), but since the beginning I am so bad about eating breakfast in the a.m. because even though I haven't had any m/s, the thought of eating makes me think "yuck", but I have been eating...anyway I was starting my day with a protein shake because it was quick to make and kept me full while I started the day. But it makes me sick, and at any time of day. I had chocolate chip cookies, a rare treat, and I chugged a cup of milk with them....ugh. I had the same issue when I was pregnant with ds, but not with the girls....
So what's the deal with dairy?

mostly I've avoided milk because of how horrible it tastes coming back up....

but it doesn't sound very good to me even if that wasn't the case!

Cow's milk is not the worst thing in the world to avoid during pregnancy. It is a very common allergen. I drank excessive quantities of it with dd and she came out with a serious allergy and also problems with her baby teeth that might have had something to do with the way the body processes the calcium and protein in cow's milk.

This is my second vegan pregnancy. My son is 5'9, strong as an ox, and has never had any major health problems. I am being a bit more careful to limit soy this time around, but it's not that big a deal to get rice milk or almond milk for my cereal instead of soy.

I am normally lactose intolerant. While pregnant though it is almost as though I get an allergy or something because I can't have a drop of dairy.

Some mamas just can't do milk during pregnancy. Sometimes it's because you have an intolerance (many people live with dairy intolerance and never realize) that gets amplified during pregnancy.

When I was pg with A, I drank milk CONSTANTLY, even though when not pg I have a MAJOR intolerance. He LOVES dairy! When pg with Z, I couldnt' stand dairy and he has big dairy issues.

I say trust your body and avoid milk!

Interestingly, I seem to be the opposite. Normally, I avoid dairy like the plague, because it makes me spacy, spotty, achy, and bloaty. Last month or so, however, I can't get enough! I was really scared to introduce milk to the fetus, but it seems out of my hands... I try to limit it to "better" dairy like yogurt and hard cheeses, but the times when I've had straight milk (my husband drinks it, and i sometimes run out of my homemade almond milk) on my cereal, I think it tastes *Great* and I feel awesome following!
Go figure.

I've been nauseous with dairy with two pregnancies- one boy with mild dairy issues, one who had horrendous allergies, was hospitalised with eczema at 3 months, struggles with asthma- you get the picture, right? DD I was fine.
This time, I'm sick with large quantities of dairy- like pizza, for example. I'm not going to push it any more, the placenta is in place and I'm pretty sure this is baby telling me that she's atopic too.

I don't have much to compare to, but I can't do straight milk. Cheese in limited quantities is ok, but not milk. When I eat cereal, I leave the milk in the bowl. Avoiding soy/rice milk b/c of the added sweetness. This morning, I decided to try drinking some of the milk after finishing my cereal, and I projectiled it right back up immediately. Ugh. And it had been almost a full week since I'd last thrown up - so much for progress!

If cow's milk isn't sitting well with you right now, I really like oat milk as an alternative. Rice milk is too sweet for me, and I try to avoid soy when I can.

I just made the best zucchini bread and what goes well with zucchini bread? I think I might try almond milk tomorrow. I like rice milk, but I remember that it's not so high in nutrients, maybe I'm wrong. I'm gonna peruse the faux milk isle at my local health food store tomorrow!
