timing of trigger and IUI

For those of you who've gone through IUI, what were the times involved between receiving your trigger hcg and your iui? I had my first iui today, and the office said I had to have it 24hrs after the trigger. We weren't expecting to do iui this cycle, so I didn't have time to really research it as much as I'd like. I did some searches and saw that it seems more common to do the iui 36-48hrs after the trigger shot. What was your experience? Was it successful?

To top it off, my very mainstream sil called to say she got a bfp, just as we were getting home from the procedure. Not what I needed to hear today, even though I am happy for them. It's going to be a long 2 weeks. :

i have had 2 iui's with a trigger shot. the first one ended in pregnancy (m/c) and the second one didn't work. the first one i had good follicular development and triggered approx 36hrs beforehand. i was told to trigger between 6p-8p monday for a weds 8am insemination.

the next one i was told to trigger at 10p tues (vs the standard time of 6p-8p) for an 8am thurs insemination to give the follicles more time to grow. in that case, i don't think my follicles were "ripe" enough and i don't think i ovulated, even with the trigger. i didnt have a thermal shift until four to five after the iui unfortunately.

hth!

Mine have both been 36 hours after the trigger. Now I'm not convinced I ovulated in that time. I still had extreme ovulation pain the next day, but my doctor says that could just be prostaglandins still hanging around.

I've done all of my iui's (all 6 of them : ) at 36 hrs. None of them have worked, but it seems like I could feel myself ovulating on the drive to the RE's office. If my iui was at 10am on a Friday, I would trigger at 9pm on Wednesday. But we also have some mfi, so that could be why the iui route didn't work.

Good luck and hope this iui is a success

Both of mine I triggered around 9PM and did the iui at around 9:30 AM 36 hrs later. The second (successful) time the follicles were looking more developed than the month before, a bit earlier. Good luck!
