i think i'm in early labor! again! or still?

i doubt i'm in labor since my ctx are super mild, but am having this weird and horrible pain/pressure somewhere in my pelvis...

have been voiding for the last 2 days, no obvious mucus plug, no bloody show, dtd this morning. have been feeling plenty of pressure and twinges in what i'd guess as my cervical area all day. also having mild ctx all day, which increased from painless tightenings to crampiness after going for a walk this evening. so there's a general idea of what state i'm in. oh, i'm 39w 5d (or 6d i guess since its now saturday) and on monday was very ripe and effacing, but not dilated.

i've been having sort of a weird soreness in my pelvis all week. like when i'm trying to use my legs to scoot myself out of the middle of our bed, kinda of like my crotch is sore. it's really bad tonight, when i got up to pee i could hardly walk for a couple steps. even after that it was this horrible achiness somewhere in my pelvis in the front under my belly (btw baby is very low) and also in my lower back. when i went to bed i just lay there feeling all achey and couldn't sleep till dh finally came to bed and rubbed my lower back some. but i woke up 2 hours later, still achey and with a hard belly. i peed and went back to sleep. but woke up in an hour, still achey and with a hard belly. tried peeing again hoping to feel some relief from the pressure, but no such luck.

so now i'm sitting here drinking water and looking for help. hmm, i notice that my ctx do have a pattern- actually swelling and fading vs. just general tightness or crampiness. 20 sec long and coming every 3-4 min. though still quite mild compared to what i know is coming. in early labor with ds my ctx got to be a minute apart and 30 sec long and only got me to 1cm! (then they spaced out for 10 hours before picking back up). could i be in early labor?!? come on baby, mama is ready to hold you!

Fingers crossed for labour for you.

My personal expericance with pelvic pain is the separated pelvis stuff that people talk about - there have been a number of threads on it here - you could see if they feel right but seeing as it's coming and going with a pattern I'm hoping that it's labour for you.

well i went back to bed (after drinking a glass of water and electrolytes and taking some l-glutamine), and the ctx continued and got some stronger. i had dh rub my feet hoping it would relax me enough to sleep. it didn't, but the ctx did start spacing out more. but then i was too hungry to sleep. so i just ate a snack and am now going back to bed. still having the ctx but they're more like 20 min apart.

eta: oops typo. meant to say 10 min apart.

It's probably early labor Getting you ready for the big day. Probably starting to dialate and efface your cervix a little and making labor easier!

sounds like early labour to me too

Sorry, I meant to start a new post. But that sounds how I felt for weeks before delivery but there was no pattern until the actual day.

well i went back to bed. the ctx continued, but after about half an hour I was able to go to sleep. woke up 2 hours later, at 8, to no ctx. bummer. but i did have some extra mucous when i peed, that's a plus. all morning i've just had tightenings, no real ctx till i nursed ds at nap time. that started them up, but they've been spacing out for the last hour. still less than 10 min apart.

mkoontz, mamameeyah- i don't think it's seperated pelvis, since it has gone away. at bed time last night i was just feeling achey down there all the time, but this afternoon it's only during ctx. with ds i felt the ctx in a band across my lower belly (and back), these i feel only in the center of my lower belly (and back) i guess at my cervix. this baby's head is really low so i'm thinking the ctx are sort of pushing her down a bit and putting pressure on my cervix.

in an hour we'll be going to a picnic, i think i'll go for a walk around the park to try and get things moving.

The pressure is because the baby is low and engaged. It puts a lot of pressure all through the crotch area, labia, vagina, cervix, etc. My baby dropped several weeks ago, and is now so low that whenever I stand up or get out of bed I have to hobble through the discomfort a few seconds until I can walk normally!

Good luck with you labor when it kicks into gear!

That totally sounds like what I've been experiencing for the last two weeks. Very different from my preg with ds, he didn't drop till i was in labor so i never had this feeling.

Well, I've been having ctx every 20 min all afternoon and evening. Have had some increased mucus too, though nothing big enough to be obviously mucus plug. An hour or so ago they increased to every 10 min and are stronger. I just called and left my mw a message about what's been happening, just a heads up in case things pick up tonight. I'm so excited to think I could be having my baby soon!

It's quite the joke on me if this is labor, because tomorrow is my due date and weeks ago I told dh to go ahead and plan something for that day because of all the days I would have the baby it wouldn't be the 19th!

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

well i went to bed and slept. woke at 3:30 to a painful ctx, laid in bed for over an hour trying to relax through the ctx. eventually got up and sat on my birth ball for a bit, ctx were around 5min apart. around 5am realized i was hungry, so i sat in the living room on my ball watching tv and ate some cottage cheese. ctx were still coming every 5 min, and felt stronger. then at 6am they suddenly petered out. after a half hour i gave up and went to bed and slept till 8am.

ctx did start up again this morning, around 30 min apart. have been having them all day, they have slowly gotten closer together. at 3:30 i took a nap, just got up a bit ago, so they've spaced out again. hopefully tonight is the night.

I'll hope so for you too. They have been doing that to me for two weeks - but hey, one of us has to have a baby soon right?????

two weeks????? : NNNNOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! You must be exhausted. I can't imagine surving on 5 hours sleep every night for weeks. How far along are you? I'm 40 weeks todya.

The ctx have definitely picked back up in the last hour. I haven't been timing them, but they're stronger and closer together. I haven't been walking or dtd or anything, just picking up the house and making dinner. Though I do not feel hungry, in fact I feel a bit queasy.

I've been having bloody show all day too, so that's making me hopeful.

They do it for a couple of nights, then I'll have one 'off' and sleep most of the night, then I'll be up again for the next couple of night.

They are really sore too - like breathe through them, not able to lay down, want to be up and walking........

But I haven't had any show until yesterday, so hopefully for you (and me) it's a good sign.

come on babies, come out.
