Our sweet liitle boy was born at home Aug 16 at 1:31 pm after 13 hours of labor. The first 8.5 cm were a piece of cake and I totally thought I was going to have a relatively pain free birth. I was singing and meditating with my girlfriends as the sun rose.
Alas- I got stalled between 9-10 cm for 3 hours and it freakin hurt! I had been throwing up with each major contraction since the birth started (which didn't bother me.) The dehydration etc. made me weak so I had to get out of the warm tub. My MW and dh got me to face the INTENSE moments of transition and I finally got to 10 cm.
I pushed for 90 min and he was born via birthing stool into my dh hands. He made a little sound when his head was born and was already breathing before I delivered the rest of his body. My throat was soooo sore from all the yelling and roaring that moved through me.
I bled a lot and had to have some meds to get my uterus to clamp down but I was OK- the mw's were on it and I totally trusted them.
We have a little bundle of joy who is so sweet and had been sleeping and feeding and looking around and feels sooooo here. I am loving every minute and need to sleep more. I just want to lay around and watch him all the time.
