I had a GREAT prenatal with my midwife today. She reassured us that she thinks at most she'll get an administrative censure, and not get her license revoked or have to quit midwifery. She was confident and very comforting (she even thinks we'll be able to get insurance coverage... I'm not as optimistic, but I liked hearing that!). I'm so glad things are working out.
My bp is good, and I've lost 4 lbs since getting pregnant. (But all my pudge is migrating to my front, so I look like I'm "showing" even though the babe is still teensy) My pee is fine, and fundus is right where it needs to be. The absolute BEST part was hearing the babe's little
. It took a few minutes. First we heard mine, then found my placenta (nice and high on the left). My babe was hiding right behind my pubic bone, and he/she was moving around quite a bit. For a second me and the midwife thought we heard 2 heartbeats, yikes!! But it was just the babe being wiggly. Anyway, nice healthy 156 bpm. I have heard lots of baby heartbeats in my doula work but hearing a second heart in my body was really amazing. I feel like I'm walking on air, it's like getting your first kiss. Wow! Anyway, I just wanted to share the joy.
