Blogspot, wordpress... choosing a host for my blog ahh!

First I was with blogger but I didn't like my website name because first it started out just about my daughter, and her the site was her name, but it evolved and the name was no longer appropriate. I would have liked to just change the name but couldn't figure out how so I had to find a new host that would let me transfer all of my blog posts, so I switched to wordpress. But now I don't like wordpress because it makes you resize all your pictures or else they end up HUGE, unlike in blogger where you can choose the size and location of the pic which I really like... so I want to go back to blogspot but how do I get all my posts onto another name? Ahh I hate this.

I'm VERY new to blogging, but not websites/HTML, writing articles, so thank you for this link!

The wordpress blog you have, is it wordpress.com or .org? I have a blogger blog with 3 whole posts right now (see, I told you I was new!), and I just can't decide if I want to mess with learning wordpress.org. I have installed it on my own server, played around with it slightly, but I must admit that I am very intimidated by it. Plugins, layout, templates, etc.

Any tips or advice? What are your pros and cons that you mentioned?

actually it was the free wordpress but I'm just getting my own site so it will be a bit different. I had to have help for installing it on my own website.

Blogger with it's new changes is pretty nice I think

I don't know if it will make a difference in your final decision, but some people don't know that the free wordpress does not let you use adsense or affiliate links. So if you plan to monetize your blog at all, blogger is the way to go for free. To use wordpress and adsense together, you have to have your own domain and hosting, which may be a whole technical kettle of fish you don't want to get into. Just a thought. Blogger comes with free hosting as well, so you can host your blog there and pay for a domain name of your choice through another agency, if you want.

I host mine through blogger, and bought a domain name from 1and1 for I think $5.99 a year

Hope this helps.

I use WordPress with our domain/hosting, and once I got the hang of editing themes I have found it to be perfect, although I am not familiar with free hosts for blogging.

This is an interesting site someone shared with me recently, I found some of it to be very useful...
