I've posted before about my painful, cracked nipples. But I am not convinced that it is thrush. I do not have the shooting pains in my breast, and the burning sensation after the nursing session. It hurts (OMG, it hurts!) when he first latches on, then subsides after a minute or 2. The nipple is cracked all the way around, the skin is peeling. He has no signs of thrush anywhere. Has anyone had a severe yeast infection, and not had any of the symptoms? I know it looks like thrush, but it doesn't feel like yeast. I would feel better about taking all of these systemic medications if I knew other mamas had had a similar situation. Anyone????

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.
Is this thrush?

I had thrush for six weeks when DS was born, and I had absolutely no external symptoms. My breasts, nipples and aerolas all looked fine and dandy, but I truly felt like I could take razors and slice my breasts off and they would have felt better. I had such deep stabbing pains in my breasts that I thought my breast tissue must go all the way through to my back.
Not sure if that helps, but I would hesitate to call it thrush if you have no deep breast pain, and your nipples are what are mainly hurting. Don't get me wrong, my nipples were in agony, but they looked just fine.
