I was induced on Monday the 13th via misoprotosol and Eloise arrived on Tuesday morning at 8:38 am.
I was in active labor for about 4 hours and went from 3-10cm in one hour. She was born, with her waters intact in one push. My doctor made it in about three minutes after Eloise was born, she came so fast! My doc's husband (another doctor in the practice) made it just in time to catch the baby! He was literally running down the hallway to make it there in time so that I had someone that I knew delivering the baby
. We did delayed cord clamping, so as soon as she was born I was able to hold her skin to skin and bond with her. I took an epidural for the last hour of my labor, the contractions were unrelenting. I was so greatful to have my mom there to help me get to that point, she has been such a wonderful support to me through the end of my pregnancy and for my labor and delivery.
Even though I had planned on a med free birth, I still feel like this was healing for me after my first birth. I had doctors that respected my wishes, and my body (no episiotomy this time, I was allowed to tear naturally which doesn't hurt as badly healing!) and they actually numbed me up for my stitches and let the placenta be born in its own time.
We are so in love with her, she is a WONDERFUL baby. She sleeps for long stretches during the night, so we aren't *too* worn out.
