Yep, he has been swiping things off my plate and I have to snag them just before they go in the mouth.

Most of the Avocado went in on his hands, so he fed most of it to himself anyway

If they need purees then they're not ready for solids.
He didn't get puree, just smashed up avocado and bm that I mixed together with a fork, and he did just fine.

I am not just being a proud mama, he really is ahead of schedule, and was truly ready for tasting some solids. He was much easier to handle when I ate my breakfast after he had had some of his own today.

She is actually incredibly well-informed. She is highly supportive of all things AP. She supports me not vaxing, not circumcising, no tv, no plastic toys, co-sleeping, extended breastfeeding, baby wearing, etc, etc, etc. She also said, "no cereals until after 1 year", so I really trust her judgement. She says and encourages everything that I have researched already. She is one of the most sought after peds in this area and only takes on newborns as new clients, so we were extremely lucky to get her. I don't know what I would have done if she hadn't taken us on.

Anyway, I think I will pick up some fenugreek and maybe some blessed thistle as well just to have on hand.

Oh, and to the pp about co-sleeping, we have done skin to skin now for nearly five months. He has been tucked right in next to a nekkid mama now every single day of his life. He sleeps in just a dipe, and I wear nothing, so we nurse all night whenever he wants. He simply stirs a bit, I snuggle him close, and we both drift off happily nursing whenever the mood strikes.

Just an update: Last night I went to bed, nursed DS down really easily, and then went pumped three ounces or so before I went to sleep. DS woke up once in the night, and happily nursed. I was so full of milk, that he popped off sputtering a couple of times, which hasn't happened in a loooooong time.

Fast forward to this morning: I woke up with an ache in my right breast that I couldn't quite figure out in my morning fog, and then I touched it and realized it was rock hard and engorged! I immediately pumped out 6 ounces and all is well.

It seems as though it must have been stress, as the stress levels are going down fast in my life over the past day or two, so milk is flowing fast and furiously now. Thanks everyone for all of the support and advice. I am so glad to know that it was a temporary thing, and not the beginning of the end of my milk supply. (which didn't even make sense at five months anway).

Nursing my nursling is such an amazing thing, I really don't want it to end for many years.
