Where has all the stretch terry gone?

I just searched a bunch of fabric stores and only one actually lists stretch terry and it is out of stock. Is ANYONE selling stretch terry???

So it IS true! The world is out of stretch terry cloth! I'm sad now. :

These are the places that I know of that sell it:
OSDS
SewShoppe

I don't know if they have any in stock, but I know they list it.

You might also try looking for "knit terry" or "baby terry"--stretch terry is a type of knit terry, and baby terry is also a knit. Knits have stretch to them

I finally found some sherpa, which apparently also has stretch, that was on sale. It was sage green and that's a nice gender neutral color. Less than $5.00 a yard. I hope it isn't too thick. I've never seen sherpa IRL.

I can usually find it at Joann Fabric. They had better not be out of it.

According to OSDS:
Quote:
Sherpa Knit Terry

Sherpa is essentially a heavier weight Stretch Knit Terry with one side brushed to be very soft and fleece like. Trimmer than Nantucket Fleece or Burley you can use Sherpa to make an entire diaper out of. Wonderfully soft next to baby's skin, or a great soaker pad fabric. I'd recommend 3 - 4 layers for a soaker pad.
So yes, it is stretchy, and no, it shouldn't be any thicker than regular stretch knit terry

Well that's a relief. I'm making Cuddlebuns one-size diapers because I'm expecting a baby in Nov and I want to be able to grab one diaper and have it fit on either child. I don't know the gender, but sage should work for either child butt.

I'm glad it isn't too thick because sewing through lots of thick layers is a pain.
