No I wouldn't consider it dieting if you choose not to eat at night.

I also love WW. I plan on rejoining when I have the baby.

I'm now at 33+ weeks. I have gained 4 lbs total and other than some gallbladder issues, have had no major complications.

I have a question for you btdt mamas...when, if ever did your B belly become a D belly? I have just started to show, and I was really hoping to have a D belly by Halloween. I just don't see that happening at this point, and I am now questioning if it will ever happen!

Hi, I am jumping in on this thread. My name is Jenni and I am expecting #5 late Dec./early January. Anyways.. I am 5 foot 8 and with my first pregnancy I was young and after years of yo yo dieting.. went from a very low (for me) 135 pounds to 210 around birth. (!@!!) I was 206 when I left the hospital with my 7 pound infant.... I was 180-something when I got pregnant 9 months later.. 215 or so when I gave birth.. 220 when I got pregnant with #3...(don't know what I was when I gave birth..it was UC) and with #4 I was 175 when I got pregnant and 220 or so at birth.. I actually GAINED weight after I had her until I decided to snap out of it around 240 pounds and I got down to about 195..gained a few back and ranged 200-205 when I conceived #5. I am now at the cusp of 30 weeks, thereabouts and roughly 219 pounds. I am well aware of how those last trimester pounds can sneak on and so I am trying to be healthy with eating and walking, etc. I have the B belly..but it is more of a flat D now, LOL. My dh jokes that it is a mack truck..huge..but not rounded..more um, flat. I hope for a nice round D by birth day, LOL. But I am certain pants that can make my belly appear more rounded than oblong and weird shaped, LOL.

Hi
I am not sure who is in charge of updates but when you get a chance can you add me to this tribe? I posted once before. I am now 17 weeks due date is April 2 and this is pregnancy #4 but actual baby #2. I started at 205 lbs but am now 197 lbs and I am 5' 1". I am feeling great this pregnancy for the most part but whoa are my hormones bouncing around. Dh doesn't help with my moods. I am feeling huge as this belly is showing so much earlier than any other pregnancy. Despite the intial weight loss (unintentional btw as I am eating well balanced and more than usual at this point) I feel gigantic. I am starting to fear how big this pregnancy belly might get if it continues to grow at this rate ;-) Dr's and Midwife both keep at me to exercise more. Not because of any health concerns I have just so I can keep in decent physical shape and develop endurance for labor but I am scared of losing more weight. Is that just paranoid? Should I not worry about any weight loss?
Thanks
Carla

Welcome, Carla! I wouldn't worry about weight loss as long as the babe is growing as expected. Pregnancy does strange things to the metabolism.

Slings/front carriers

I used a xl baby bjorn with dd#1, never used a sling when she was tiny (I just couldn't get it together to figure out what I needed, what would fit, find time to shop for it..)but now I really want some sling choices. Any opinions on good slings for big moms and dads? I think this is a definite sign that I am nesting. I need to buy a sling NOW..and I am just hitting 20 weeks!

I have always used a ring sling. I bought a heart to heart with my second.. (xL) but it was almost too big.. I then bought a regular sized one, (same brand) but it was almost too small.. fit dh okay though. I finally had my mil make me an unpadded ring sling with instructions I found online (it is my favoritie, actually). I don't like all the padding, I have found I have enough. I am trying a moby wrap this time. I still have my ring slings if the wrap has too much of a learning curve...I plan on practicing with stuffed animals once it arrives though!

When my baby was little I didn't find a sling that worked for us--but I had never used a sling and didn't really know how to use one.

As she got bigger, my Hotsling (size 4; really too small for me) was perfect. It would have been too small with a newborn, but as she was bigger she wanted to sit up more and closer to me anyway and it was just right for that. Only in the last few weeks has she gotten too big for that and we've switched back to the ring sling (I have a Nojo).

Hi all! I"m in charge of updates, and have been harried this past week or so (some nasty court stuff). I think tomorrow things will settle down. I will have the updates updated tomorrow or Weds. Sorry for the lateness!

I had a heart to heart xl with DS, but for DD I made a unpadded sling and liked it so much better. For one thing you can spread the fabric out more on your back for better support. I also made a Mei Tai for DD but never liked all the straps, even though the double shoulder support was nice. I would love a good soft structure carrier with buckles! I also have some pouches for this new little one-good thing I can make some of these or I'd never be able to afford them. (oh and I had a XL Bjorn for DS, but hated it-way too hot!)

Weight update-I'm due on Thursday and have gained about 20 pounds. So I'm at 290. Hoping for a 30 lb baby-kidding!!!

I don't think that's dieting as long as you're not going hungry. A lot of women have to curb late night eating due to reflux and heartburn at night.

However, if you're feeling hunger at night and in the middle of the night, OR not feeling well when you wake up, you need to eat. You need to keep your blood sugar up.

If you're really worried about the calories sitting on you at night, just add another 20-40 minutes of activity during the day.

Sling

I just bought a ring sling from Jan at SleepingBaby.net - and you can get one to fit any size you are. I think it will be just perfect for a newborn. I am going to get an Ergo or something for DH and not sure what to get for me when babe wants to sit up. Thought the same ring sling might still be fine.

I have a couple of extra-large Kangaroo Korner adjustable pouches that I liked when DD was a newborn. I also had decent luck with a ring sling when she was bigger.

Belly Pics?

Anyone ready to trade belly pics? I am starting to feel like I look really pregnant (20 weeks), but really my profile isn't much different yet.

belly cast

Has anyone on this thread done a belly cast? What did you do with it afterward? How do you keep it-do you frame it? I think it would be so fun to have, but honestly don't know what to do with it for the next 25 years!

I'd love to trade a belly pic, if I had a pregnant belly to speak of!! I just look a bit thicker than normal, sitting here at 26 weeks, looking not far from the usual... I'm a bit bummed about it, but there you have it. I'm not sure about the belly cast. I LOVE the idea, but I just am really starting to wonder if I will have a belly to cast, ya know? boohoo....:

I haven't taken any of me this pregnancy yet, but weight wise I'm not better off this go round.

Did any of you buy nursing clothes? I've been wondering how long the slits are for shirts that are size 3x. My overly endowed self is just too cheap to spend money to find out LOL.
Ooooh, love the pics!!! I was just hinking that it was time I go ahead and take some since I think I'm really starting to have a baby belly. I'll have to see if DH will take some tonight!
